WHAT IS BILTONG?

Biltong is meat preserved and air-dried using processes developed over decades in South Africa. In the recent past, it is becoming popular in America and Europe.

HOW IS BILTONG DIFFERENT FROM BEEF JERKY?

Biltong and beef jerky are both meat snacks that have a long shelf life. The difference is in the production process. Biltong is completely air-dried, therefore has its key nutrients intact while beef jerky is generally exposed to high levels of heat in a dehydrator.

The traditional American beef jerky has sugar and artificial elements, while our biltong and jerky are sugar-free and do not have any artificial preservatives.

HOW IS YOUR BILTONG MADE?

We make our biltong in a three-step process. We marinate special cuts of beef in vinegar as well as spices that have no artificial elements. The meat is then hung to dry for a number of days before slicing into enjoyable sizes of biltong.

Hygiene is a major factor in the whole production process.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT YOUR BILTONG, COMPARED TO OTHERS?

We have maintained the original recipe refined over 60 years in South Africa such that your tastebuds will experience the same excitement as if you were visiting South Africa.

Our competitors have fiddled with the recipe, so you hardly taste South Africa in their biltong. We brought biltong from South Africa to America and kept the South Africa in it!

HOW IS BILTONG COMMONLY ENJOYED?

Biltong is commonly eaten in seven of many  circumstances:

  • Biltong goes well with salads like lettuce for your dinner.
  • Biltong goes well with different types of soups for your dinner.

IS BILTONG ACCEPTABLE FOR THE HEALTH CONSCIOUS?

Our biltong is rich in protein but without carbs and sugars, so it provides friendly calories that do not make you gain weight.

HOW IS BILTONG STORED?

Biltong has a long-shelf life, due to the air drying that it goes through and it can last a year when in its sealed packet. Once the packet is opened, it has to be stored in a refrigerator for not more than 3 days.
